ABOUT THE HALL

our pastors:

Situated on Church Road in the centre of the village, West Peckham's Village Hall is an important and well used community facility.

The present Hall was built in 1994 after a successful fundraising campaign by local people, and replaced an earlier and smaller wooden structure. It is managed as a charity, and the donations it receives help fund refurbishment and improvement projects to enhance further the facilities provided. These have recently included installation of a new and much improved kitchen, new curtains, toilet upgrades and a new lighting scheme and internal redecoration.

The main hall can accommodate 100 people, and there is also a separate committee room available (up to 20 people). The kitchen is equipped with a four ring electric hob and oven as well as a second oven/microwave unit. The two storerooms contain equipment such as staging, as well as chairs and trestle tables that are available for hirers to use for functions.

Many local groups use the Hall on a regular basis. These include the Women's Institute, several pilates and yoga classes, art classes and groups, dog training classes and a fitness exercise class. Modest charges make it a great venue for events such as family celebrations and children's parties, and the Hall acts as the village’s Polling Station on election days.  In 2022, an episode of Radio 4's 'Any Questions?' was hosted and recorded in the Hall.

The Village Hall committee is always pleased to welcome new users, so if you are interested in finding out about hire arrangements or joining one of the existing user groups, please contact Ron Wright on 07761 005995.
